Academics
"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."
My vita is available on-line in the following forms:
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
having matriculated in the fall of 1997. My current research finds me affiliated with the Advanced Network Architecture
Group of the MIT Laboratory for
Computer Science. My academic advisor is Anant Agarwal, while
John Wroclawski overseas my research on architectures and protocols
to support wireless computing.
My interests are broad, but I'm attempting to focus them down in order
to make progress towards a thesis topic. I'm keenly interested in
security concerns, especially those relating to information and
network security. More generally, however, issues arising in
networking, operating systems, and distributed systems caused by
concurrency and mobility are all equally fascinating. I also enjoy
dabbling in AI and theoretical
computing, although my home is definitely in a systems lab.
Previously, I attended the Georgia
Institute of Technology, where I received a Masters degree from
the College of Computing.
During my four years at Tech, I also received two Bachelors of
Science, one in Computer Science and the other in Applied Mathematics.
My undergraduate transcript is available
on-line.
