Jim,
Just to make sure I'm not completely around the bend here:
1. What I take to be the kludge in question is the phrase
[traitRef+, genPartition] eqSeq
2. I meant to be asking not for an improvement to that phrase,
but for its elimination. (Obviously, *eliminating* the option
isn't going to introduce an ambiguity if there's none there now.)
I still don't see any great need to have it at all.
Am I misinterpreting your reply?
