6.829 Term Project
A major component of 6.829 is a term project that incorporates some
networking research. You can either pick from our suggested list and
build on it, or come up with your own ideas and run them by us.
First read these project
logistics.
Next, check out the list of suggested
projects.
You will need to get an MIT certificate to read these files.
Please do not place a copy of the suggestions list anywhere else on
the Web. Thanks!
You might find the projects done in previous
years useful.
Presentations
- You may want to read
these slides from last year on how to give a bad 829 talk.
- There is no class on Tuesday 12/7. You can use the time to practice
your presentation
- Your final report is due on Friday 12/10 (instead of 12/9)
- Presentations will be in class. Each group will have about 9 minutes.
- We encourage you to use slides for your presentation. We need to put
all slides on the same laptop as there will be no time to switch
laptops. So you have to send us the slides 3 hours before lecture time
(i.e, before 9am on Thursday 12/9 morning).
- Don't have more than 6-7 slides + title slide (you can have fewer but
you will not have time to talk about more than that).
- Your presentation should include:
- 1-2 slides about the problem. and why it is important
- 3-4 slides about your solution
- 1-slide that concludes with your contributions. i,.e, why what
you did is important and useful.
- Practice, Practice, Practice. Give 1-3 practice talks to your friends
before presenting in class.
