The goals of 6.829 are to train the next generation of networking researchers, practitioners, and engineers. In particular, our goals are:

  1. To understand the state-of-the-art in network protocols, architectures and applications.
  2. To understand how networking research is done.
  3. To investigate novel ideas in the area via semester-long research projects.

Recent announcements

  1. 12/10/04: Project papers are due by midnight tonight. Send postscript or PDF to the staff at 6.829@mit. See the project page for more details.
  2. 12/09/04: Quiz 2 solutions are online.
  3. 12/06/04: Project presentations will be on Thursday, Dec 9th. Please read these presentation suggestions and logistics.
  4. 12/01/04: Quiz 2 is this Thursday, December 2nd. We'll be having a review session on Wednesday, December 1st at 5:00pm in 4-145.
  5. 11/24/04: Quiz 2 is December 2, 2004. Practice tests are now available.
  6. 11/18/04: We will hold group meetings today in lieu of lecture.
  7. 11/05/04: Quiz 1 solutions are online. Unclaimed quizzes can be picked up in Monday's office hours or in class Tuesday.
  8. 11/01/04: Wireless and Sensor networks lecture notes now available; see schedule. Notes from Friday's review session are available.
  9. 10/28/04: Quiz 1 is this Tuesday, November 2nd. We'll be having a review session on Friday, October 29th at 1:00pm in the regular lecture room, 32-141.
